On the Road with California Humanities
As part of a national celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize, California Humanities will convene a series of discussion forums throughout the state as part of the Pulitzer Prize Centennial Campfires Initiative. Aimed at deepening the public’s engagement with contemporary issues through a humanities lens, On the Road with California Humanities will connect Pulitzer-prize winning authors, artists, journalists, and other notable thinkers who are helping to guide California along the road to a vibrant future.

Please join us at 6pm for a reception featuring Democracy in the Fields photography by Mimi Plumb and student artiwork by Adilene Gamez, Bullard High School, in coordination with Fresno County Office of Education. 

Noted director and playwright Luis Valdez, founder of El Teatro Campesino will led a conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winner Miriam Pawel on how the farmworker movement of the past can help inform the future of agriculture, along with Dawn Mabalon, Associate Professor of History at San Francisco State University and Samuel Orozco, author and National News and Information Director of Radio Bilingüe. Panel will start off with Blue Willow monologue by José Gomez, CSU-Fresno Student.
