Oakland’s Public Square: Flash Memoir Writing Workshop
Writing Our History, Present and Future

California Humanities is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Swan’s Market in conjuction with East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) by hosting a flash memoir writing workshop.

Swan’s Market has been a place of convergence for local people and businesses-- grocers, butchers, and eateries-- for 100 years and continues to be a place where people gather.

Have you ever wanted to record a memory about where you grew up or about a meaningful place in your neighborhood? Here’s your chance to craft your ideas into a poem, short story or memoir! Get your creative writing going with this flash memoir 2 hour workshop. Frances Lefkowitz, Bay Area writer and editor, has extensive experience facilitating workshops with new and experienced writers. All levels of writing experience are welcome. Writing materials provided.  Ages 14+ recommended.
